MagicFlw is a native iOS app for iPhone, requiring iOS 17 or later. It is built with SwiftUI. There is currently no Android, iPad, Mac or web version.

### How often are wait times updated?

Every 3 minutes. Each reading is stored as a time-series snapshot, which feeds the trends and forecasts.

### How do the 7-day forecasts work?

Forecasts aggregate recent history by ISO day of week (1=Monday to 7=Sunday) and by 15-minute slot. For each attraction, the app computes the expected average wait, peak wait and peak hour for each of the next 7 days.

### How is the daily plan optimized?

The optimizer is a greedy walk with a 4-slot look-ahead over forecasted waits. You choose the target park (Disneyland Park, Disney Adventure World, or both combined) and the attraction category (family or thrill). The plan can also be built from your favorites, with a configurable arrival time.

### What happened to Walt Disney Studios Park?

Walt Disney Studios Park was renamed **Disney Adventure World** on 2026-03-29 by Disneyland Paris, alongside the opening of World of Frozen and Adventure Way. It is the same park at the same location — only the name changed. MagicFlw tracks it under its current name.

## Glossary

- **Standby**: the regular queue for an attraction. This is the wait time MagicFlw displays by default.
- **Single Rider**: a separate, usually much shorter queue for guests willing to ride alone and fill isolated empty seats. Not available on every attraction, and not always open. MagicFlw flags attractions with an open Single Rider queue and shows its dedicated wait time.
- **Premier Access**: Disneyland Paris' paid queue-skipping option, sold per attraction or as a daily pass. MagicFlw does not sell or book it.
- **Extra Magic Time**: early park access granted to guests of Disney hotels and certain annual passholders, before general opening.
- **Snapshot**: one stored wait-time reading for one attraction at one point in time. MagicFlw records one snapshot per attraction every 3 minutes.
- **Slot**: a 15-minute bucket used to aggregate snapshots into trend curves.

## Methodology in detail

**Collection.** A scheduled task polls a publicly available wait-time feed every 3 minutes and writes one snapshot per attraction, storing the reported wait, the open/closed status and Single Rider availability. All timestamps use the Europe/Paris timezone.

**Trends.** Snapshots are aggregated by ISO day of week (1=Monday to 7=Sunday) crossed with 15-minute slots, producing an average wait curve per attraction per weekday. This is what lets the app answer "when is this ride quietest on a Saturday".

**Forecasts.** For each of the next 7 days, the trend curve for that weekday is summarized into three figures per attraction: expected average wait, expected peak wait, and the hour at which that peak is expected.

**Daily plan.** The optimizer is greedy with a 4-slot (one hour) look-ahead: at each step it picks the attraction whose forecast wait over the next four slots minimizes total queueing, accounting for ride duration and the selected park and category filters. Plans are precomputed daily for today through day +7, for each combination of park (Disneyland Park / Disney Adventure World / combined) and category (family / thrill). Plans built from a user's favorites are computed on demand.

**Known limits.** Forecasts are statistical, not predictive of one-off events: unannounced closures, weather, special events and park-hour changes are not modelled. Minimum heights are indicative. Wait times are the park's own posted estimates, which typically carry a 5 to 10 minute margin.

## Privacy

MagicFlw uses Google AdMob for monetization and Google UMP for GDPR/CCPA consent. Apple App Tracking Transparency is requested before any tracking. Audience measurement uses a self-hosted Matomo instance in cookieless, IP-anonymized mode, with no advertising identifier and no cross-site tracking.
